What is the purpose of studying the humanities? Due at the end of the first week of school.

In this, the first post of the year, I submit to you the question, "what is the purpose of studying the humanities?"

This class exists for a reason. Someone took the time to allot money from the school district budget for this class. Why?

This will be due at the end of the first week of school. We will also be doing an in-class writing on this subject at the beginning of next week.
